Notes

'Kanjiro' camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Kanjiro') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its fragrant flowers open in autumn and again in winter, and bees and birds visit them. The evergreen shrub grows fast with an arching habit, so give it room. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Japanese holly, Carolina jessamine, and Red spider lily.
