Notes

'Shishigashira' camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Shishigashira') is a shrub for borders, hedges, accents, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Rich pink, semi-double flowers cover the arching branches, and they are fragrant. Bees and birds visit the plant, and it blooms in fall and winter.

Pairs well with Mondo grass, Blue Angel hosta, and American holly.
