Notes

'Jean May' camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Jean May') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, borders, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in autumn and again in winter, and the fragrant flowers draw bees. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The arching, evergreen shrub grows fast and gives you color when most beds are quiet.

Pairs well with American holly, June hosta, and Spurge.
