Notes

'Candidissima' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Candidissima') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Calot bred it in 1856. The full double flowers have cream outer petals and a light yellow center with a green tint. They are fragrant and open in early to mid spring on plants up to 39 inches tall.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Pincushion flower, and Love-in-a-mist.
