Notes

'Carrot Cake' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Carrot Cake') is a perennial for damp borders, pond edges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. The six inch semi-double blooms are white with wide lavender-blue margins and golden-yellow centers, and they open in early to late summer and attract bees. The upright leaves look like a Siberian iris. Rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Burnet, Susan magnolia, and Horsetail.
