Notes

'Centennial' star magnolia (Magnolia stellata 'Centennial') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The creamy white to pink flowers are fragrant. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it. It grows slowly into a mounding shape, so give it room to spread.

Pairs well with Chokeberry, Switchgrass, and American hornbeam.
