Notes

'Cheese Country' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Cheese Country') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roy G. Klehm bred it, and it blooms in early summer with fragrant, rose-pink flowers and a golden-yellow center. The flowers have no pollen or stamens, and the strong stems hold up to 4 buds each.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, and Foxtail barley.
