Notes

'Chief Carmine' celosia (Celosia argentea 'Chief Carmine') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and accents. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. The red blooms open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Profusion zinnia, Lantana, and Hyacinth bean.
