Notes

Celosia (Celosia argentea) is an annual for borders, containers, cut flowers, and annual beds. It cannot take cold, and a freeze will end its season. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought. It sits low on the menu for deer. Flowers come in yellow, orange, pink, and purple.

Pairs well with Ageratum, French marigold, Zinnia, and Black-eyed Susan.

Native range

Tropical Africa.
