Chinese horse chestnut (Aesculus chinensis) is a tree for specimen planting and shade garden settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It grows 30 to 40 feet tall and wide, so give it plenty of room. White flowers open in late spring and early summer.
