Notes
Chinese maple (Acer oliverianum) is a tree for shade, lawn specimens, and fall color. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. In mid spring it bears white flowers with red sepals. The leaves turn a rich color in fall, and the tree reaches 15 to 30 feet tall and wide, so give it room.
Pairs well with Texas mountain laurel, Wax myrtle, Fountain grass, and Anemone.
Native range
Central China and Taiwan.
