Notes

Chinese tulip tree (Liriodendron chinense) is a tree for specimen planting, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a tall, columnar shape that turns color in fall. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Butterflies and bees visit the olive green flowers, which have yellow at the base.

Pairs well with Serviceberry, Autumn fern, and Goldenseal.
