Notes

'Circus Clown' peony (Paeonia 'Circus Clown') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows 12 to 15 inches tall and bears fragrant, full double blooms of orange-red that attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Minuteman hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
