Notes

'Coho' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Coho') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It blooms from early to late summer and draws butterflies and bees. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Astilbe, Scorpion spotted beebalm, Alexander loosestrife, and Cinnamon fern.
