Notes

Colorwheel stokes' aster (Stokesia laevis 'Colorwheel') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil. White blooms age to lavender and purple from early to late summer, with more in early autumn. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Obedient plant, Little bluestem, and Switchgrass.
