Notes

'Crispa Whiteside' wood fern (Dryopteris dilatata 'Crispa Whiteside') is a fern for accent planting, shade gardens, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade, average moisture, and loamy or clay soil. It forms an arching clump that reaches 24 to 48 inches tall and 24 to 36 inches wide. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Red trillium, Yellow trout-lily, and Invincibelle Ruby smooth hydrangea.
