Notes

'Desmond Johnston' rose (Rosa 'Desmond Johnston') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, containers, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The fragrant blooms open in scarlet with orange and ruby-red shading from late spring into early autumn, and bees visit them. Samuel Davidson McGredy III bred it in 1927.

Pairs well with Catnip, Clary sage, Switchgrass, and Casa Blanca lily.
