Notes

'Doctor van Hesteren' tulip (Tulipa 'Doctor van Hesteren') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. The orange-red blooms open in early to late spring. Outside the petals are mandarin red, while inside they are bright vermilion red with a bronze and black base and black anthers. The leaves are mottled.

Pairs well with Thalia daffodil, Singing In The Rain peony, and Ernest Markham clematis.
