Notes

'Double Take Scarlet' Japanese quince (Chaenomeles 'Double Take Scarlet') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, hedges, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring, and the fragrant flowers attract bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Once settled in, it is also drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Japanese holly, Cora Louise peony, Ornamental onion, and Cornflower.
