Notes

Dutchman's pipe (Aristolochia tomentosa) is a vine for privacy screens, hedges, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows fast and can climb to 20 to 30 feet. The greenish yellow flowers open in spring and summer, and the undersides of the dark green leaves look downy and whitish.

Pairs well with Cross vine, Oakleaf hydrangea, and Autumn fern.
