Notes

Pelican flower (Aristolochia gigantea) is a vine for containers, specimen planting, and privacy screens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Its huge burgundy flowers have white veins and a face up to 12 inches across. You can grow it in a pot with a trellis to keep it smaller.

Pairs well with Black-eyed Susan vine, Kahili ginger, and Green Goddess calla lily.
