Notes

Dwarf palmetto (Sabal minor) is a shrub for specimen planting, rain gardens, foundation plantings, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The fan-shaped leaves can reach 4 feet wide on a slow-growing evergreen. White blooms are followed by black fruit that birds enjoy. Give it plenty of water while it settles in.

Pairs well with European fan palm, Sago palm, Sasanqua camellia, and Carolina jessamine.
