'Early Gold' autumn crocus (Crocus 'Early Gold') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. The butter yellow flowers have bold purple stripes on the petal backs. They bloom earlier than large Dutch hybrids. You can plant it in a lawn, but hold off on mowing as long as you can so the bulbs build energy for next year.
Pairs well with Little Beauty tulip, Cheerfulness daffodil, Sensitive fern, and Sedge.
