Notes

Dutch crocus (Crocus vernus) is a bulb for naturalizing, lawns, rock gardens, and spring borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It blooms in mid spring with purple or white flowers. The plants stay just 3 to 6 inches tall, so plant them in drifts for the best show.

Pairs well with Black Hero tulip, Shirley Temple peony, and Tall fescue.

Native range

Eastern Europe and western Russia.
