Notes

'Striped Bird' autumn crocus (Crocus 'Striped Bird') is a bulb for borders, rock gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. The flowers have lavender petals with deep purple veins and open in early to late spring. You can plant it in a lawn, but delay mowing so the leaves can build energy. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Black Hero tulip, Spanish bluebell, and Yellow trout-lily.
