Notes
'Early Golden' American persimmon (Diospyros virginiana 'Early Golden') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for sweet, orange fruit that taste like dates. The fruit is about 1.5 inches wide. The tree is partially self-fertile, so plant it with a male persimmon for larger crops.
Pairs well with Apple, High-bush blueberry, Switchgrass, and Johnny jump up.
