Notes

'Elf' mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia 'Elf') is a shrub for pollinator gardens and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. This dwarf evergreen has dense growth and pink buds that open to white flowers in spring. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Indian grass, Culver’s root, and Pink Impression tulip.
