Notes

'Ester' purple granadilla (Passiflora edulis 'Ester') is a vine for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. Its fragrant purple flowers open from early to late summer. It has a high sugar content and gives abundant harvests over a long period. It sets fruit on its own, but a different cultivar nearby may boost the crop.

Pairs well with Pinot Noir grape, Loquat, and Granny Smith apple.
