Notes

'Purple Giant' purple granadilla (Passiflora edulis 'Purple Giant') is a vine for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for large, sweet passionfruit. The purple summer flowers are fragrant. This selection is self-fertile, but it may set more fruit near a different cultivar like Nancy Garrison or Possum Purple.

Pairs well with Zinfandel grape, Pomegranate, and Persimmon.
