Notes

'Everest' sedge (Carex oshimensis 'Everest') is a grass for borders, containers, rock gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It forms a clumping mound of evergreen leaves that tolerates drought. It sits low on the menu for deer. Bees and birds visit the plant.

Pairs well with Midnight Rose coral bells, Black hellebore, Reticulated iris, and Red-barked dogwood.
