Notes
Evergreen maple (Acer laevigatum) is a tree with lance-shaped leaves that look unlike most maples. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun. The new leaves emerge deep maroon-red to purple-red in spring, then mature to purple-green and green. White flowers open in early to late spring. Protect it from hot afternoon sun.
Pairs well with Spice bush, Snowdrop, and Wood sorrel.
