Notes

'Fafner' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Fafner') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Each stem carries two to four fragrant seashell-pink flowers with dark red flares, and they reach 8 inches across. The plant stands about 32 inches tall without staking and blooms in mid to late season. Dr. Bernard Chow bred it.

Pairs well with Great blue lobelia, Queen of Night tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
