Notes

Field maple (Acer campestre) is a tree for hedges, privacy screens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a rounded shape, so you can shape it as a hedge over time. Yellowish-green flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds.

Pairs well with Staghorn sumac, Rising Sun Texas redbud, and Blue Chiffon rose of sharon.
