Notes

'Firebrand' peony (Paeonia 'Firebrand') is a shrub for specimen planting, cottage gardens, borders, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Yellow blooms with a reddish base on the petals open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Derek Irvine introduced it in 2001.

Pairs well with Cat mint, Lady of the snows, and Nelly Moser clematis.
