Notes

'Firegold' peony (Paeonia 'Firegold') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Yellow blooms with pink highlights open in early to late spring. Butterflies visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Lady of the snows, Arabella clematis, Lily of the valley, and Black-eyed Susan.
