Notes
'Fireworks' oriental fountain grass (Cenchrus orientalis 'Fireworks') is a grass for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It reaches 36 to 48 inches tall and bears burgundy purple blooms that attract birds.
Pairs well with Bougainvillea, Dragon Wing Red begonia, and Lemon Coral sedum.
