Notes

'Hameln' fountain grass (Cenchrus alopecuroides 'Hameln') is a grass for borders, containers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It grows 18 to 30 inches tall and wide, with pinkish white blooms that birds visit. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The evergreen clumps tolerate drought, so you can leave them in place for easy care.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Virginia sweetspire, and Ostrich fern.
