Notes

'Firstlight NZ' peony (Paeonia 'Firstlight NZ') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Yellow blooms with red flecks open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Nelly Moser clematis, and Buffalo grass.
