Notes

'Flashing Koi' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Flashing Koi') is a perennial for borders, containers, rain gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It blooms from early to late summer, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Astilbe, Scorpion spotted beebalm, and Cinnamon fern.
