Notes

'Floristan Violet' dense blazing star (Liatris spicata 'Floristan Violet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet soil of most types. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit its blooms, and it is drought tolerant. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Its clumping form stands 35 to 47 inches tall.

Pairs well with Lanceleaf coreopsis, Coneflower, and Black-eyed Susan.
