Notes

'Kobold' dense blazing star (Liatris spicata 'Kobold') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet soil of most types. Purple flower spikes rise above a clumping habit and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, Little bluestem, and Paprika yarrow.
