Notes
'Alba' dense blazing star (Liatris spicata 'Alba') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet soil of most types. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It blooms in early to late summer and draws butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It forms a clump that grows 24 to 36 inches tall and handles dry spells well.
Pairs well with Red Satin tickseed, Magnus coneflower, Iris, and Hardy geranium.
