'Gamad I' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia 'Gamad I') is a shrub for hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It stays compact at 24 to 36 inches tall and 36 to 48 inches wide. Cherry red flowers open in mid to late summer and last into early autumn. Once settled in, it tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Boxwood, Fountain grass, and Mountain mint.
