Notes
'Gateway' peony (Paeonia 'Gateway') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. William Henry Krekler bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
