Notes

'General Lawton' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'General Lawton') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Sarah A. Pleas bred it in 1899. The large, fragrant, purplish pink flowers open in late spring in clusters, and the dark green leaves set them off.

Pairs well with Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, Royal fern, and Blue sage.
