Notes
'Georgei' barberry (Berberis 'Georgei') is an evergreen shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It blooms in early to late spring, and bees visit the flowers. Birds also come to it.
Pairs well with Sarah Bernhardt peony, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Queen of Night tulip.
