'Tara' barberry (Berberis 'Tara') is a shrub for hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average soil. It blooms yellow in mid to late spring, and the leaves turn color in fall. Deer tend to pass it by. Give it 3 to 5 feet of room to grow.
Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Blue grama, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
