Notes
'Gibraltar' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gibraltar') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deep pink double blooms open in late spring and early summer. The flowers last a long time when cut, and the bright green foliage grows on stems about three feet tall. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1965.
Pairs well with Iris, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, and Cinnamon fern.
