Notes

Golden columbine (Aquilegia chrysantha) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, woodland gardens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil of most types. Clear yellow flowers stand upright on long stalks and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Good drainage prevents crown rot.

Pairs well with Roma greater masterwort, Ornamental onion, and Rosemary.
