Notes

'Goldsmith' comfrey (Symphytum 'Goldsmith') is a low perennial. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Flowers open in late spring and early summer and change from pink to blue to white. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows 9 to 12 inches tall, spreads 12 to 18 inches, and tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Peony, Blue fescue, and Queen of Night tulip.
